Stress Assessment Program Policy and Implementation Overview
As the number of mental disorders and industrial accidents stemming from stress-related issues has increased, companies have recognized the need to address the mental health of their workers.
In response, the Japanese government instituted the Partial Revision of the Industrial Safety and Health Act on June 25, 2014, mandating annual stress screenings to assess the psychological toll the work environment has on employees.
On December 1, 2015, the government established the Stress Assessment Program as specified in article 66-10 of the Industrial Health and Safety act. The program integrates a network of workplace organizations and includes guidelines for employee counseling.
The system assesses worker stress, promotes awareness, and improves workplace morale with the primary goal of preventing work-related mental health issues.

In keeping with our motto "Healthy Work for a Healthy Life", we have implemented the Stress Assessment Program as a matter of policy.
1. The purpose of the Stress Assessment Program
Companies can better prevent mental illness when they evaluate employee stress levels, increase employee mental health awareness, create worker-friendly environments, and improve workplace morale.
The primary focus of the Stress Assessment Program is never to target people with mental health issues, but to prevent such issues from occurring in the first place.
2. Stress Assessment Implementation Information and Regulations
Details of our stress assessment protocols are available to all of our associates under Rules for the Implementation of the Stress Assessment Program.
3. Compliance
We perform our Stress Assessment Program in accord with all relevant laws and regulations.
4. Privacy Measures
We recognize the sensitive nature of the information that stress assessments require from our associates, and we strictly adhere to all laws and regulations regarding the storing and management of said information.
5. Right to Refuse
It is within a worker's rights to refuse a stress assessment.
Refusal will not affect the worker's status or result in any unfair treatment.
